Freedom of Info Request Response from Air Force Regarding Bob Lazar

I received a response from the Air Force today regarding my freedom of information request regarding Bob Lazar. Here is the response below:

"Dear Brian Done,

This is in response to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request dated 28-Dec-24, and assigned case number 2025-01974-F, where you seek the following: I am requesting all documentation, including paychecks, microfiche, photos, and videos in relation to Robert Scott Lazar and Barry Castillio, working at a facility named S4, which was built into a mountainside located near Papoose Lake, a few miles south of Groom Lake, which is the main Area 51 facility. Robert Scott Lazar worked at S4 between 1988 and 1989. Robert Scott Lazar was born January 26, 1959.

We are unable to process your request because it is too broad in scope.  This precludes us from directing your request to the appropriate office or agency. We request further clarification of the records you are seeking.

1.    The Air Force (AF) does not have any installations with the formal names of “S4” or “Area 51” but there is an installation in Nevada called the Nevada Test and Training Range.  Is this the installation you are referring to?  If not, please provide the AF official/formal name(s) of the military installation(s) you seek information from.

2.     If the AF can locate the employees which you have named at the official/formal AF installation you provide to us in your clarification response, then what key words or topics within the emails are you looking for?

When responding, please reference the above FOIA case number.  Your request will not be processed until we receive your clarifying response. If no further information is received by 15-Jan-2025 we will consider this case closed. If the records are still required after the case has been closed, a new FOIA request may be submitted.

Direct questions to AFIMSC.FOIA.WorkFlow@us.af.mil and reference the above FOIA case number.

Sincerely,AFIMSC Freedom of Information Act Office"

Apparently, my request is too broad in scope and the the Air Force needs further clarification in order to process the request. I will be amending my request in hopes of getting a better response.
